From Our Time features Norwegian music for flute solo and flute and piano by living Norwegian composers, inspired by the rich tradition of Norwegian folk tunes. The idea for the album came from Jasmina Zivic, sparked by Ørnulf Michelsen’s Sonatine for Flute and Piano, which he wrote for her in winter 2022. Captivated by the piece, she premiered it at a chamber music concert a few months later. Since then, she has collected additional works for the album, recording the solo pieces in 2024 and the piano pieces in 2025 with pianist Kristian Socanski. The music blends folk influences with the diverse expressions of contemporary composers.
